Asian Chicken Meatballs

Serves 5

1 pound ground chicken
½ cup breadcrumbs
½ cup minced scallions
3 tablespoons minced ginger
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
2 teaspoon soy sauce
¼ teaspoon Kosher salt
Sauce: Store bought Chili-Garlic, Duck, or Peanut Sauce

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

In a large bowl, gently mix all ingredients together. With your hands, gently form into 1 ½-inch balls and arrange on a parchment lined baking sheet in one layer. Spray meatballs with non-stick cooking spray or brush with canola oil.

Bake for 13 minutes. Serve with store-bought Asian-Chili sauce or Peanut Sauce.

  1. I received an email with the heading Gourmet Passover Cooking and this is one of the recipes. However, it calls for bread crumbs which are chometz and hence this recipe should net be listed as being for Passover.

    • Thanks, the post had a few recipes in it, some for Passover and some for the regular year. That one is only listed on GKC not the Passover site. Thanks for watching closely and following.

    • You can do that and use matzo meal, but sesame oil is not kosher for passover so that would need a neutral oil or a walnut oil (which has a different flavor) and also use kosher for Passover soy sauce which is not exactly the same as soy sauce, but a decent substitute.
