Serves 6
This is pretty easy but it’s also pretty good. And you can throw it together really quickly; you just need to remember to do the marinade ahead of time.
1 (3-pound) flank steak
Marinade:
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup honey
¼ cup vinegar
2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic
2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
4 scallions, chopped
1-1/4 cups canola oil
To prepare marinade, stir together soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, ginger and scallions. Whisk in oil. Pour into plastic container with lid or even freezer-strength Ziploc bag. Pierce meat on both sides with a fork and add to marinade. Coat completely. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours. Heat broiler and cook, basting occasionally, about 8 minutes per side. Cool slightly and slice into 1-inch strips. Invite me for dinner!
I never see flank steak at the butcher. Is it called something else?
Use skirt steak. Many butchers do make a cut that they call flank steak.
Looks great, but what kind of vinegar do you recommend? Thank you!
Regular white vinegar is fine. You can also use red wine vinegar if you like that more.
can this marinade be used on a split minute roast?
Made this recipe for my kids last night and it was a big hit. Just wanted to point out that Flank Steak is not a kosher cut of meat so you will have to find a substitute. I used a small roast cut the thickness in half so it would cook more evenly.
DELICIOUS!!
Made this for Shabbas and it was easy, and sooo good.
I love your recipes!!

How many does this recipe serve?
Thank you.
This serves approximately 6 people. If you are big eaters, then about 5. It has been added to the recipe, thanks!
